The Stadthuys, also known as the Red House, is a significant historical landmark in Melaka, Malaysia. Built between 1641 and 1660, it’s considered the oldest Dutch building in the East. Originally serving as the Dutch administrative centre and governor’s office, it later housed various government functions and residences for high officials. In 1982, the Stadthuys was converted into the History and Ethnography Museum, showcasing Malacca’s rich history from the Malay Sultanate to the colonial periods.
