Christmas is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, observed primarily on December 25 as a religious and cultural celebration among billions of people around the world.
Although only 9% of Malaysians are Christian, Christmas is celebrated by people of all faiths and backgrounds in Malaysia. Houses and malls are decorated with lights and Christmas trees weeks in advance. On Christmas Eve, churches hold candlelit midnight mass and serve cake to the congregation.
